About Me

I’m a Design Director and UX Leader with over 12 years of experience shaping products, teams, and systems across Web3, fintech, media, and tech.

My work bridges strategy and execution — crafting scalable design systems, empowering teams, and embedding design thinking across organizations. I believe leadership is about clarity, empathy, and asking the right questions before offering solutions.

Before leading global design teams, I worked in branding and editorial design, where I learned that great work starts with strong relationships — between designers, clients, and every team that brings an idea to life.

At PÚBLICO, I founded and led the Communication Office, building a collaborative, high-performing team in a fast-paced newsroom. Today, as Global Design Director at Block Labs, I lead design strategy and team growth, helping shape the future of digital experiences in Web3 and fintech.

Outside of work, my three children remind me daily that curiosity and emotion are the best tools a designer can have.

Leadership & Mentorship

I’m passionate about helping others grow — from mentoring designers and future leaders to guiding students at DESIS Lab @Nova SBE, where I support teams applying design thinking to social innovation.

Beyond design, I’ve led and participated in volunteer initiatives in education and community development in Portugal and Cape Verde, managing teams of up to 30 volunteers. My experience in international youth programs in Austria, the USA, and Italy strengthened my belief that empathy, collaboration, and cultural awareness are the foundation of effective, human-centered leadership.
